A new award for best African act has been introduced with the voting taking place in Africa itself.Nominees include Youssou N'Dour and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.The nominations were announced tonight at a launch party hosted by T4 presenter June Sarpong.The awards, now in their 10th year, take place on September 22 at London's Royal Albert Hall.There is also a nomination in the best jazz category for Madeleine Peyroux.The singer hit the headlines last week when she allegedly went missing in the middle of a promotional tour for her latest album Careless Love.
She also scored a number one hit on the Billboard Top 200 with Conqueror, the epic duet with Jussie Smollet, and a recurring cameo role on the Fox Network series Empire.
